The upcoming anime film, “The Last Blossom” (Housenka), has revealed new cast members, additional staff, and details about its opening theme song in a recently released trailer video. The trailer, which first premiered at Anime Expo, previews the film’s opening song and provides further insight into the production team and voice talent.
Expanded Voice Cast
The new trailer for “The Last Blossom” introduces several key additions to the film’s voice cast, bringing more characters to life within its compelling narrative. The newly announced cast members include:
- Hideaki Murata (from the comedy duo Toro Salmon) as Hayashida, a henchman to Akutsu.
- Hiroki Yasumoto as Tsutsumi, Akutsu’s “big brother” within the yakuza group.
- Sōma Saitō as Wakamatsu, Akutsu’s junior.
- Kōta Nakayama as Konishi, another of Akutsu’s henchmen.
These actors join previously announced main cast members Kaoru Kobayashi and Junki Tozuka, who play Akutsu’s present and past selves respectively, alongside Hikari Mitsushima and Yoshiko Miyazaki as Nana Nagata, and Pierre Taki as the titular Housenka.

The new trailer video for “The Last Blossom” also features and previews the film’s opening theme song. The track is titled “Moving Still Life” and is performed by the band cero. While cero members Shohei Takagi, Yu Arauchi, and Tsubasa Hashimoto were previously announced as composing the film’s music, “Moving Still Life” is specifically identified as the opening theme.
“The Last Blossom” is set to premiere in Japan on October 10 and has been selected for the Feature Film Competition at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2025. The film tells the story of an elderly yakuza inmate, Akutsu, who reflects on his past after a conversation with a talking Housenka flower.
