Tokyo, Japan – The upcoming anime film The Obsessed, also known by its Japanese title Toritsukare Otoko, has offered fans a musical sneak peek with new trailers featuring its main theme song. The film, a musical adaptation of Shinji Ishii’s novel, is set to premiere in Japanese theaters on November 7, 2025, following a showing at the Tokyo International Film Festival.
Main Theme: “Fanfare ~Koi ni Ukarete~” Takes Center Stage
The recently released clips highlight the film’s musical nature, showcasing the lead voice actors, Masaya Sano and Moka Kamishiraishi, performing the main theme song, “Fanfare ~Koi ni Ukarete~” (Fanfare ~Giddy in Love~). Masaya Sano, a member of the idol unit Ae! Group, not only voices the protagonist Giuseppe but also lends his singing talent to the pivotal tracks. Moka Kamishiraishi, who voices Pechka, also contributes her vocals to the film’s songs.
Another notable musical element previewed is “Giuseppe’s Theme,” an upbeat song performed by Masaya Sano, capturing the essence of the titular character’s various pursuits. Sano described his initial recording process for this song as involving “trial and error” to perfectly capture Giuseppe’s voice.

The musical landscape of The Obsessed is further enriched by atagi from Awesome City Club, who has contributed five original songs in addition to a portion of the background score. Awesome City Club is also credited with performing the theme song. The Story of Giuseppe and Pechka
The Obsessed tells the story of Giuseppe, a man characterized by his intense, albeit fleeting, obsessions. His life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Pechka, a quiet balloon seller, sparking a new and profound obsession. The film follows Giuseppe’s endearing efforts to connect with Pechka and brighten her world, supported by his mouse friend, Cielo. The anime film is directed by Wataru Takahashi, known for his work on several Crayon Shin-chan films. The screenplay was penned by Naoyuki Miura, while Masatsugu Arakawa handled the character designs. Shin-Ei Animation is responsible for the animation production, and Bandai Namco Filmworks is distributing the film. The original novel by Shinji Ishii was first published in 2001.
