Story Synopsis

“The Too-Perfect Saint: Tossed Aside by My Fiancé and Sold To Another Kingdom” follows the story of Philia Adenauer, a woman celebrated as the greatest saint of all time. However, her exceptional abilities and perceived lack of charm lead her fiancé, Prince Julius, to call off their engagement. As a result, Philia is sent to the neighboring kingdom of Parnacorta in exchange for resources.

Despite expecting mistreatment, Philia is warmly welcomed in Parnacorta. She uses her saintly powers to help the citizens, erect barriers against monsters, and cure epidemics. As she thrives in her new life, Philia uncovers memories of the past, realizing she is in a story of a book. With her newfound memories, she helps the people around her and solves many problems, even as her former homeland faces potential destruction.

Light Novel and Manga Adaptations

The anime is based on the light novel series written by Kōki Fuyutsuki and illustrated by Masami. The series was initially serialized on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from July 2020 to January 2022 before being acquired by Overlap. Overlap began publishing the series under their Overlap Novels f imprint in April 2021.

A manga adaptation, illustrated by Mago Ayakita, began serialization on Overlap’s Comic Gardo manga service in November 2021. Both the light novel and manga adaptations are licensed in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment.

A Talented Creative Team

Shuu Watanabe, known for his work on Naruto Shippuden and Shinobi no Ittoki, is directing the anime at studio TROYCA. Keiichirō Ōchi, who has worked on The Café Terrace and Its Goddesses and The Quintessential Quintuplets, is overseeing the series scripts. Shūhei Yamamoto (Beast Tamer) is responsible for the character designs, while Takaaki Nakahashi (Peach Boy Riverside) is composing the music.
