Fans of the comedic fantasy anime series, ‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess, were treated to a fresh look at the upcoming second season with the release of a new promotional video at Jump Festa 2026. The preview specifically highlighted the anime’s ending theme song, “Ohime-sama ni wa Narenai” (I Can’t Become a Princess), performed by singer-songwriter Yuika. The highly anticipated second season is slated to premiere in Japan on January 12, 2026.

The new footage offers a glimpse into the continued “torture” sessions of the captive Princess, whose steadfastness is continually tested by surprisingly delightful treats rather than conventional torment. Crunchyroll has confirmed it will stream the second season for international audiences.

Yuika’s “Ohime-sama ni wa Narenai” Sets the Tone

The newly previewed ending theme, “Ohime-sama ni wa Narenai,” is performed by Yuika, known for her distinctive musical style. This reveal follows the earlier announcement of the opening theme, “Sunday Morning,” which will be performed by the popular South Korean girl group, ILLIT. The combination of these two artists promises a fresh auditory experience for the new season, complementing the anime’s unique blend of fantasy and humor.

Season 2 Premiere and Production Details

The second season of ‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess is scheduled to broadcast in Japan starting January 12, 2026, at 11:30 p.m. JST on channels like Tokyo MX and BS11. Animation studio PINE JAM, which handled the acclaimed first season, is returning to produce the second installment. Yoko Kanamori is once again directing the series, with Keiichiro Ochi handling series composition and Toshiya Kono serving as character designer. Masaru Yokoyama is composing the music.

Expanding the Cast

The new season will also introduce fresh faces to the voice cast, with Yukari Tamura joining as Hamu-chan and Tomokazu Sugita as Penta. Additionally, Mutsumi Tamura was previously announced to voice Sakura Heartlock. These additions are expected to further enrich the comedic dynamics and world of the series.

The Enduring Appeal of ‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess

The anime is an adaptation of the fantasy comedy manga series written by Robinson Haruhara and illustrated by Hirakei. The manga, which concluded its serialization on Shonen Jump+ on August 19, 2025, developed a devoted following for its unique premise: a captured princess of the Imperial Army is subjected to “tortures” by the Hellhorde, which are often irresistible culinary delights or simple creature comforts designed to elicit state secrets. The lighthearted approach to its fantastical setting has been a cornerstone of its popularity. The first season aired from January to March 2024. With its return, the second season aims to continue this beloved blend of humor and charming characters.
