The upcoming anime series To Be Hero X has released its main trailer, offering fans a glimpse into the world of heroes and the challenges they face. Premiering on April 6, the anime is generating buzz with its unique premise and dynamic animation. The trailer was revealed at AnimeJapan 2025, showcasing the series’ opening and ending theme songs.

Main Trailer Highlights the World of “To Be Hero X”

The main promotional video for To Be Hero X provides a comprehensive look at the anime’s characters and storyline. It previews the opening theme song “INERTIA” by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Rei and the ending theme song “KONTINUUM” by SennaRin. Both tracks are scheduled for release on June 11.

Story Premise: Trust as the Source of Power

To Be Hero X is set in a world where heroes derive their power from the trust of the people. Here’s a breakdown:

  • Trust as Power: Superpowers are directly linked to public trust. If people believe a hero can fly, they gain that ability.
  • The Downside of Distrust: Even heroes with special powers lose them if they lose the public’s faith.
  • Data-Driven Rankings: Trust is quantified as data, influencing the heroes’ rankings.
  • Hero Tournament: Every two years, the top heroes compete to update their “trust value” and ranking.
  • The Enigmatic “X”: The absolute hero at the top is known as “X”.

Production and Creative Team

To Be Hero X is co-produced by Aniplex, Bilibili, and BeDream. Studio LAN and Paper Plane Animation are handling the animation. Li Haoling, the founder of Haoliners Animation League and the director of Link Click, is directing the series. Hiroyuki Sawano is composing the music.
