This initiative is part of a “SUMMER WEEKEND SPLASH” event, making full episodes available every Saturday and Sunday.
The streams are featured on the official Toei Animation YouTube channel, which caters to audiences in North America, Latin America, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. The channel has been actively uploading episodes, with recent additions including episodes 5, 6, 7, and 8 of the English dub, as of July 2025. This move allows both long-time fans and new viewers to experience the eccentric adventures of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo.
The World of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo
Based on Yoshio Sawai’s unique manga, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo plunges viewers into the year 300X, a world dominated by the tyrannical Maruhage Empire, also known as the Bald Empire. Emperor Baldy Bald the 4th has initiated a global “hair hunt,” decreeing that all humankind must be bald to assert his absolute power.
Standing against this bizarre decree is the titular hero, Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. He is a master of the “Fist of the Nose Hair,” a martial art that allows him to command his own body hair for defense and combat. With his distinctive golden afro, Bo-bobo embarks on a quest to defend the follicles of the innocent and put an end to the Hair Hunt troops.
A Unique Comedic Journey
Bo-bobo’s adventures are anything but ordinary. He teams up with an eclectic and often equally strange cast of allies, including a girl named Beauty. Together, they face off against a bizarre array of foes from the Bald Empire, encountering humorous and surreal situations filled with puns, cross-dressing, and abundant visual gags. The series is renowned for its over-the-top humor and unpredictable plotlines, which have garnered a cult following.
Previous releases of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo in North America included a standard-definition Blu-ray Disc set from Discotek in January 2020, featuring all 76 episodes in both English and Japanese with subtitles. Prior to that, Illumitoon Entertainment and S’more Entertainment also released parts or the full series, though some lacked complete subtitles for the Japanese version. Cartoon Network famously aired the series on American television in 2005.
