Distribution company REMOW has revealed exciting details about the anime’s debut, including the premiere date, a special theatrical screening, and the artist behind the ending theme song.
Premiere Date and Theatrical Screening
Mark your calendars! Tougen Anki will officially premiere on July 11, 2025, in Japan. But that’s not all – ahead of the broadcast, fans can catch the first three episodes at a special theatrical screening on June 21, 2025, at United Cinemas Toyosu in Tokyo.
Adding to the excitement, Anime Festival Asia (AFA) Indonesia 2025 will host the world premiere screening of the first episode from June 6 to June 8. Voice actor Kazuki Ura, who plays the main character Shiki Ichinose, and producer Takanori Matsuoka will be attending the event. Furthermore, the US premiere is slated to occur at Anime Expo 2025.

What is ‘Tougen Anki’ About?
Tougen Anki: Legend of the Cursed Blood is based on the manga series by Yura Urushibara, which has been serialized in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shonen Champion since June 2020. Yen Press began publishing the manga in English in September 2024. The story blends elements of adventure and dark fantasy, drawing inspiration from the classic Japanese folktale of Momotaro.
The story follows Shiki Ichinose, a young man who discovers he is a descendant of the Oni (demons). Raised by a Momotaro father, Shiki finds himself caught in the long-standing conflict between the Oni and Momotaro clans. When his father is killed, Shiki vows revenge and begins training to control his Oni powers at Rasetsu Academy, a school for Oni.
