The highly anticipated “final phase” of the Trigun Stampede anime, titled Trigun Stargaze, has officially set its premiere date for January 10, 2026, on TV Tokyo, with Crunchyroll also confirmed to stream the series globally. TOHO Animation recently unveiled a new full-length trailer that provides an extensive look at the upcoming season, along with significant additions to the cast and the artists behind the theme songs, building considerable excitement among fans for the conclusion of Vash the Stampede’s saga.

A Deeper Look at the New Trailer and Visuals

The latest trailer for Trigun Stargaze offers a dynamic montage of intense action sequences, dramatic character moments, and glimpses into the perilous future of the desert planet No Man’s Land. It highlights the return of the iconic protagonist Vash the Stampede, alongside fan favorites Meryl Stryfe and Nicholas D. Wolfwood, as they navigate a world still reeling from the “Lost JuLai tragedy”. The animation, handled by Studio Orange, continues to showcase their signature 3D CGI style, promising a visually stunning experience. Alongside the trailer, new key visuals and character illustrations for Vash, Wolfwood, Meryl, and the newly returning Milly Thompson were also released, providing updated looks at the beloved characters.

Expanding the Cast: Key Additions and Returning Voices

The Trigun Stargaze announcement brought exciting news regarding its voice cast, most notably the return of Milly Thompson, a character whose absence was felt by many fans of the original anime. Chika Ayamori will voice Milly Thompson, joining the main cast. Additionally, Ryūji Satō will take over the role of Millions Knives, replacing Junya Ikeda.

The returning main cast members include:

  • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Vash the Stampede.
  • Yoshimasa Hosoya as Nicholas D. Wolfwood.
  • Sakura Ando as Meryl Stryfe.

Other returning cast members confirmed are Kōki Uchiyama as Legato Bluesummers, Ayumu Murase as Elendira the Crimsonnail, Ryūsei Nakao as William Conrad, and TARAKO as Zazie the Beast. Voice actor David Matranga, who voices Wolfwood in the English dub, has also teased that Stargaze will delve deeper into Wolfwood’s emotional core, hinting at an even more intense journey for the character.

Theme Song Artists to Set the Tone

While the specific theme song titles were not detailed in the initial reports, the announcement confirmed that theme song artists have been selected for Trigun Stargaze. Tatsuya Katō, known for his work on franchises such as Free! and Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya, is composing the music for the series, promising a captivating auditory experience to match the visual spectacle.

Plot and Production Details

Trigun Stargaze is set two and a half years after the catastrophic “Lost JuLai tragedy” that devastated an entire city and plunged the planet into chaos. Meryl, now a senior journalist, continues her search for Vash, accompanied by her new junior partner, Milly. As plant robberies resurface, they suspect Millions Knives’ organization is at play. Meanwhile, Vash, living under the alias Eriks in a secluded town, is drawn back into the conflict to protect his loved ones after receiving an urgent message. The story is expected to bring a final conclusion to the long-standing feud between Vash and Millions Knives.

The series is directed by Masako Sato (Haikyu!! To The Top), with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) handling series composition and scripts based on Takehiko Oki’s concepts. Kouji Tajima returns as the concept artist and original character designer from Trigun Stampede, with Kiyotaka Oshiyama (Look Back) serving as the animation character designer. Studio Orange is continuing its acclaimed 3D animation production for the series.

Fans can catch up on the previous series, Trigun Stampede, which is available for streaming on Crunchyroll, before Trigun Stargaze premieres.
