The highly anticipated anime series Trigun Stargaze, the “final phase” of the Trigun Stampede reimagining, officially revealed its first full trailer, a striking new key visual, character designs, and confirmed its January 2026 premiere during a panel at New York Comic Con 2025. Fans can expect the conclusion to Vash the Stampede’s journey to air on the TV Tokyo network in Japan, with Crunchyroll simulcasting the series internationally.

Unveiling the New Trailer and Dynamic Visuals

Studio Orange, the acclaimed studio behind Trigun Stampede, showcased a brand-new trailer for Trigun Stargaze, offering a glimpse into the escalated stakes and intense action awaiting Vash the Stampede. The trailer highlighted key characters and the vibrant CGI animation that Studio Orange is renowned for, signaling a darker and more profound narrative for the series’ conclusion.

Accompanying the trailer, a powerful new key visual was released, prominently featuring Vash the Stampede. This visual, often depicted in stark red and black, embodies the series’ intense atmosphere, sometimes accompanied by taglines such as “Existence and Pain” or “Alone, no longer.” Additionally, individual character illustrations were unveiled for fan favorites including Vash the Stampede, Nicholas D. Wolfwood, Meryl Stryfe, and the returning Milly Thompson, giving viewers a fresh look at their designs for this final chapter. Kiyotaka Oshiyama, the new character designer, drew the teaser visual, further emphasizing a distinctive artistic direction for Stargaze.

Returning and New Talent Behind the Scenes

The production of Trigun Stargaze remains in the capable hands of Studio Orange, ensuring the continuation of the distinctive 3D CGI animation style that characterized Trigun Stampede.

Direction and Script

Masako Sato (known for Haikyu!! To The Top) steps into the directorial role for Trigun Stargaze, taking over from Kenji Mutō. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) is handling the series composition and scripts, working with concepts provided by Takehiko Oki. This team aims to deliver a narrative that is said to be closer to the original manga’s essence, promising a rich and faithful conclusion to the story.

Character and Concept Design

Kiyotaka Oshiyama has been brought on as the new character designer for Trigun Stargaze, contributing to the refreshed visual aesthetic seen in the latest teasers. Kouji Tajima, who served as the concept artist and original character designer for Trigun Stampede, returns to lend his expertise.

The Anticipated Cast Returns

While an official comprehensive cast list for Trigun Stargaze was part of the announcement, the Japanese voice actors from Trigun Stampede are largely expected to reprise their roles for the “final phase.”

Main Japanese Voice Cast

  • Vash the Stampede: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka
  • Nicholas D. Wolfwood: Yoshimasa Hosoya
  • Meryl Stryfe: Sakura Ando
  • Millions Knives: Junya Ikeda

Notably, Milly Thompson, who was absent for much of Stampede, has been confirmed through character visuals and story descriptions to join Meryl Stryfe as her junior partner, much to the excitement of long-time fans.

A Story Two and a Half Years in the Making

Trigun Stargaze picks up two and a half years after the devastating “Lost July” incident, which laid waste to an entire city and plunged the planet into chaos. The narrative will follow Vash the Stampede as he confronts his brother, Millions Knives, in a climactic battle that will determine the future of both humanity and the desert planet of No Man’s Land.

Meryl Stryfe, now a senior journalist, continues her search for Vash alongside her new junior partner, Milly Thompson, and eventually reunites with Nicholas D. Wolfwood. Their journey becomes intertwined with the resurgence of Plant robberies, hinting at Millions Knives’ renewed machinations behind the scenes. The story promises to delve deeper into the complex themes and characters that have defined the Trigun franchise, offering a compelling conclusion to this reimagined saga.

January 2026 Premiere and Global Streaming

Trigun Stargaze is scheduled to begin its broadcast in January 2026 on the TV Tokyo network in Japan. Crunchyroll has confirmed its plans to stream the series globally alongside its Japanese broadcast, making it accessible to fans worldwide. This final chapter is set to deliver an emotional and visually spectacular experience for long-time followers and new viewers alike.
