Bullet/Bullet Anime: Premiere Dates and Distribution
Bullet/Bullet, an original work by director Sunghoo Park, known for his work on Jujutsu Kaisen, is set in a near-future dystopian world where civilization has collapsed. The story centers on a junk shop worker named Gear, who, alongside a gambling addict and a multi-personality robot, runs a “theft business” to reclaim unjustly stolen items. Their lives take a drastic turn when a mysterious girl enlists them to steal back an item, inadvertently drawing the attention of an armed group from the wasteland.
The anime’s release strategy includes both streaming and theatrical screenings:
Streaming Release on Disney+
The first eight episodes of Bullet/Bullet will be available for streaming exclusively on Disney+’s “Star” brand starting July 16. The subsequent four episodes (nine to twelve) are scheduled to stream from August 13.
Japanese Theatrical Release
In Japan, the series will also have a two-part theatrical screening. The first part, titled “Dangan Shissō-hen” (Bullet Run arc), is slated for release on July 25. The second part, “Dangan Kessen-hen” (Bullet Final Battle arc), will follow on August 15.
Additional Musical Contributions and Key Staff
Beyond TWS’s insert song, the Bullet/Bullet anime features other notable musical contributions. Japanese rapper Chanmina performs the opening theme song “WORK HARD,” and rock band Newspeak is responsible for the ending theme song “Glass Door.” Sunghoo Park not only directs the series but also spent a decade drafting its original story. Aki Kindaichi is handling the series composition, while Takahiro Yoshimatsu serves as the character designer and chief animation director. The animation production is handled by E&H production, Park’s own studio, in collaboration with GAGA.
