Barestar’s Unhinged Tactics and the Threat to the Free City
Barestar is portrayed as dangerously paranoid and unhinged. He resorts to using weapons of mass destruction against the innocent inhabitants of the Free City. His erratic behavior stems from deep-seated insecurities and a desperate attempt to maintain control and power. His primary goal in this episode is to steal Glenn’s state-of-the-art airship for his own purposes.
Flashback Exposes the Cowardice of the “Heroes”
A flashback sequence attempts to explain the reasons behind Glenn and Barestar’s betrayal of Ascheriit and his loyal companions. The “heroes,” motivated by cowardice and insecurity, fear that Ascheriit’s accomplishments will diminish their own reputations. This ultimately boils down to them not wanting to be outshone by Ascheriit. This poorly integrated flashback attempts to add depth to the conspiracy against Ascheriit.
