Viz Media has officially added Aya Hirakawa’s romantic comedy manga, Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze (Japanese: Mikadono Sanshimai wa Angai, Choroi), to its digital library as a simulpub. This means new chapters will be released simultaneously with their Japanese debut, providing fans with immediate access to the latest installments of the series.
What is Simulpub?
Simulpub, short for “simultaneous publication,” refers to the practice of releasing new chapters of manga in English at the same time as their original Japanese release. This digital distribution model has become increasingly popular, allowing international fans to read the latest manga chapters without significant delays and helping combat piracy by providing official, timely access. Viz Media has been a key player in this space, offering numerous simulpub titles through its VIZ Manga app and website.
About Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze
Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze is a romantic comedy manga written and illustrated by Aya Hirakawa. The series began serialization in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in December 2021. As of July 4, 2025, fifteen collected tankōbon volumes have been released in Japan.
Plot Summary
The story centers on Yū Ayase, a high school student who struggles to live up to the legacy of his late mother, Subaru Ayase, a renowned actress known for her beauty, athleticism, and intelligence. Despite inheriting only his mother’s good looks, Yū is otherwise unremarkably ordinary. Following his mother’s death, Yū is taken in by the wealthy Mikadono family, close friends of his mother.
He soon finds himself living with the three exceptionally talented Mikadono sisters, who are also star students at his new high-class school: Kazuki, a rookie actress; Niko, a rising martial artist; and Miwa, a shogi prodigy. Initially, Yū believes an understanding between himself and these gifted individuals would be impossible. However, as they spend time together, the three sisters unexpectedly warm up to Yū and begin to develop romantic feelings for him. The series explores their evolving relationships, as Yū attempts to build new family bonds and the sisters reveal their more vulnerable sides.
Previous English Releases and Anime Adaptation
Before Viz Media’s simulpub announcement, AI localization company Orange Inc.’s emaqi e-bookstore service had also begun publishing the series digitally in English, with the first two volumes available as of June 2025.
The manga has also inspired an anime television series adaptation produced by P.A. Works, which premiered in Japan on July 9, 2025, on channels such as Tokyo MX. Crunchyroll is currently streaming the anime series as it airs, and an English dub for the anime also premiered on July 30, 2025.
Viz Media’s addition of Dealing with Mikadono Sisters Is a Breeze to its simulpub lineup offers fans another official avenue to keep up with Aya Hirakawa’s ongoing romantic comedy series.
