The Story of “Wandance”

The “Wandance” anime adapts Coffee’s popular manga, which began serialization in Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine in January 2019. Kodansha USA licenses the manga for English release. The story follows Kaboku Kotani, a shy high school student with a stutter, who plans to go through high school unnoticed. His life takes a turn when he encounters Hikari Wanda, a first-year student who dances freely and without inhibition. Inspired by her unbridled expression, Kaboku decides to step out of his comfort zone and join the dance club, embarking on a journey of self-discovery through the power of hip-hop. The manga had accumulated 13 tankōbon volumes as of August 2024.
