The highly anticipated second season of the anime Wind Breaker is set to premiere on April 3, 2025, and a newly released promotional video has revealed key updates, including additional cast members and a preview of the ending theme song. Fans can expect the continuation of the action-packed delinquent battles and character-driven storylines that made the first season a hit.

Wind Breaker’s KEEL Arc: What to Expect

The second season will adapt the “KEEL arc” from Satoru Nii’s popular manga series. A new key visual and trailer tease the impending conflict between Bofurin, the protector group from Furin High School, and KEEL, a rival organization. The tagline, “Don’t underestimate Bofurin!” underscores the challenges that Haruka Sakura and his comrades will face in the upcoming season.

New Cast Members and Returning Favorites

The latest promotional video unveils Junya Enoki as the voice of Shingo Natori, a new character joining the fray. Ryōta Ōsaka was previously announced as the voice of Tasuku Tsubakino, one of the Four Heavenly Kings of Bōfūrin.

Returning main cast members include:

  • Yuma Uchida as Haruka Sakura
  • Yuichi Nakamura as Hajime Umemiya
  • Ikumi Hasegawa as Kotoha Tachibana
  • Shoya Chiba as Akihiko Nirei
  • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Hayato Suo
  • Koki Uchiyama as Kyotaro Sugishita
  • Ryota Suzuki as Toma Hiiragi

  • Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Mitsuki Kiryu

“It’s myself”: shytaupe to Perform Ending Theme

The promotional video also offers a sneak peek at the ending theme song, “It’s myself,” performed by the rock band shytaupe. This new song will follow “Muteki” (Invincibility) by Young Kee, which served as the ending theme for the first season. SixTONES will perform the opening theme song.

  • Director: Akai Toshifumi
  • Series Composition: Seko Hiroshi
  • Character Designer: Kawakami Taishi

What is Wind Breaker about?

Wind Breaker, created by Satoru Nii, began as a manga series on Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket website in January 2021. The story follows Haruka Sakura, a high school student with exceptional fighting skills who enrolls at Furin High School, a school known for its delinquents. However, he soon discovers that the students of Furin High, known as Bofurin, protect the town from external threats.

Reception of Season 1

The first season of the Wind Breaker anime, which aired from April to June 2024, received positive reviews for its engaging characters, impressive fight choreography, and animation quality. Critics and fans have praised the series for its unique take on the delinquent genre, with many considering it among the best anime of the Spring 2024 season.

Where to Watch

Crunchyroll is currently streaming the first season of Wind Breaker and is expected to stream the second season as well.
