The upcoming anime adaptation of Kenta Shinohara’s Witch Watch has revealed its English dub cast in a newly released trailer. Witch Watch, a fantasy and romantic comedy manga series, is set to premiere in April 2025, and fans are eagerly anticipating the anime adaptation.

Witch Watch: A Whimsical Premise

Witch Watch revolves around the lives of Nico Wakatsuki, a witch in training, and Morihito Otogi, a boy descended from a line of ogre familiars. After completing her magical training, Nico moves in with Morihito, tasking him with the duty of protecting her as her familiar. As they navigate the challenges of living together, their lives become intertwined with supernatural events and comedic mishaps.

English Dub Cast Revealed

The English dub cast for Witch Watch has been announced, featuring:

  • LilyPichu (Lily Ki) as Nico Wakatsuki: LilyPichu is a well-known voice actress and internet personality.
  • Stephen Fu as Morihito Otogi: Stephen Fu has voiced roles in a number of anime and video games.
  • Caleb Yen as Kanshi Kazamatsuri: Caleb Yen is known for his work in anime and video games.
  • Kevin K. Gomez as Keigo Magami: Kevin K. Gomez has lent his voice to various animated projects.

Production and Streaming Details

The Witch Watch anime is produced by Bibury Animation Studios, with Hiroshi Ikehata directing and Masao Kawase as assistant director. Deko Akao is handling series composition, while Haruko Iizuka is responsible for character designs, and Yukari Hashimoto is composing the music. Crunchyroll will stream the anime in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS. GKIDS will also bring the first three episodes to theaters as WITCH WATCH: WATCH PARTY. Netflix will also stream the anime worldwide starting in April 2025.

  • Nico Wakatsuki: A teenage witch who moves in with her childhood friend Morihito after completing her magical training. She is in love with Morihito.
  • Morihito Otogi: An ogre with immense strength who becomes Nico’s familiar and protector. He is generally serious and responsible.
  • Kanshi Kazamatsuri: A tengu who befriends Nico during her training and becomes another familiar tasked with protecting her. He is known for his social skills and speaks in the Kansai dialect.
  • Keigo Magami: A werewolf who transforms into another person, referred to as “Wolf,” when he sees a crescent shape. He is a classmate of Nico and Morihito and eventually moves in with them.
  • Nemu Miyao: Voiced by Tomori Kusunoki
  • Yuri Makuwa: Voiced by Mikako Komatsu
  • Tenryu Kiyomiya: Voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka
  • Ibuki Wakatsuki: Nico’s mother, voiced by Nana Mizuki.
  • Reiji Otogi: Morihito’s father, voiced by Katsuyuki Konishi.

Manga Origins and Popularity

Witch Watch is written and illustrated by Kenta Shinohara, and has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump since February 2021. As of January 2025, twenty tankōbon volumes have been released. The manga has been licensed for simultaneous publication in North America by Viz Media. The series blends slice-of-life gag comedy with romance and shonen action elements.
