“Witch Watch” Episode 12, titled “Dog and Raindrops, Part 2” (犬と雨滴 – ②), aired on June 22, 2025, as part of the MBS/TBS Sunday 5 PM anime slot. This episode marked a shift towards a more action-focused storyline for the series, balancing intense battles with emotional revelations.

Episode Synopsis

The episode continues the confrontation with Wolf and his Warlock master, building on the events of the previous week. Keigo Magami is revealed to be a “wolf” (werewolf) whose transformation is triggered by the sight of a crescent moon, granting him ferocity and wild strength. He attacks Morihito, while Nico and Kanshi, separated from Morihito, find themselves surrounded by Wolf’s “dogs”.

Nico and Kanshi devise a strategy to locate the Warlock. They attempt to use Nico’s invisibility spell, “Moblivate,” to navigate through the Warlock’s minions. When their cover is blown, Nico bravely uses herself as bait to draw the Warlock’s attention, allowing Kanshi to catch the Warlock off guard with Nico’s cloning spell. This demonstrates Nico’s growing contribution to battles and highlights her developing skills.

The Warlock is revealed to be an individual who, after discovering her witch powers as a teenager, remained bitter about never achieving special status. This made her vulnerable to a shadowy mastermind who promised to unlock her hidden potential in exchange for her assistance in capturing Nico.

The episode delves into Keigo’s motivations, revealing that his true desire in working with the Warlock was to obtain a potion to heal his mother’s legs, which were injured in the same accident that affected him. The Warlock, not being a born witch, did not possess the promised potion and had been lying to Keigo. Nico, upon hearing Keigo’s story, decides to use her own magical remedy to heal his mother, showcasing her compassionate nature.

The battle between Morihito and Keigo in his werewolf form intensifies, showcasing a contrast between raw power and disciplined skill. Morihito ultimately defeats Keigo, realizing that Keigo’s strength is tied to his fighting spirit. The Warlock attempts to reveal the name of the mastermind behind her actions but is abruptly killed and drained of her magic, which simultaneously frees Keigo from his contract.

Key Revelations and Character Developments

  • Keigo’s True Nature and Motivations: Keigo is revealed to be a werewolf, and his alliance with the Warlock was driven by a selfless desire to heal his mother.
  • Nico’s Growing Prowess: Nico actively participates in the conflict, utilizing her spells strategically to aid Kanshi and confront the Warlock.
  • The Warlock’s Demise and Unanswered Questions: The Warlock’s sudden death leaves loose ends and hints at a larger, more dangerous antagonist pulling the strings.
  • Keigo Joins the Group: Following the resolution of the conflict, Keigo joins Nico, Morihito, and Kanshi, suggesting a new dynamic for the main cast.

“Witch Watch” Episode 12 concludes Keigo’s storyline in a largely satisfying manner while transitioning the narrative towards new challenges and expanding on the magical world’s darker aspects.
