A Glimpse into Yano-kun’s Unlucky Life
Based on Yui Tamura’s romantic comedy manga, which began serialization on Kodansha’s Comic Days website in June 2021, “Yano-kun’s Ordinary Days” centers on the endearing relationship between Tsuyoshi Yano and Kiyoko Yoshida. Yano is a high school boy perpetually plagued by misfortune, often arriving at school covered in injuries due to his extreme clumsiness. His constant mishaps draw the concern of his classmate, Kiyoko Yoshida, the reliable and kind-hearted class president. As Kiyoko begins to observe and care for Yano’s daily struggles and injuries, her concern gradually blossoms into deeper feelings, forming a “pure romantic comedy” between the two.
The manga has already inspired a live-action film adaptation, which premiered in Japan on November 15, 2024, further indicating the growing popularity of Tamura’s work.
