The Enduring Legacy of Doronjo
Doronjo is a central and beloved villain from Tatsunoko Production’s classic Yatterman anime series, which originally premiered in 1977. Her enduring popularity has led to various adaptations and commemorative projects over the years. In 2022, Yatterman celebrated its 45th anniversary, coinciding with Tatsunoko Production’s 60th anniversary, which saw the production of the WOWOW Original Drama Doronjo, a live-action television show centered on the character. Additionally, the Yatterman franchise marked its 40th anniversary in 2015 with the Yatterman Night television anime, which focused on a descendant of Doronjo. The conclusion of her isekai manga adds another chapter to the long and varied history of this iconic antagonist.
