Yen Press has announced a significant expansion to its manga and art book catalog, revealing three new manga licenses alongside Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian: Momoco’s Art Book. These acquisitions were unveiled as part of the publisher’s “Anime Expo Day 0 announcements.” The newly licensed manga titles are adaptations of previously licensed light novel series, further broadening the scope of beloved stories for Western audiences.
New Manga Adaptations Joining the Yen Press Lineup
The three manga series licensed by Yen Press cover a range of genres, from intricate romance to cyberpunk fantasy and supernatural mystery. These titles are anticipated to be released in December 2025.
Even a Replica Can Fall in Love
Yen Press has acquired the manga adaptation of Harunadon’s light novel series, Even a Replica Can Fall in Love, illustrated by Momose Hanada. The story introduces Sunao, a girl who uses a replica of herself to avoid school or other undesirable situations. The narrative takes a complicated turn when this replica begins to experience love, exploring themes of identity and affection within this unique premise. Yen Press previously released the original light novels for this series.
Demon Lord 2099 (3-in-1 Omnibus)
Another notable acquisition is the manga adaptation of Daigo Murasaki’s Demon Lord 2099 (Maou 2099) light novel series, illustrated by Yutaka Sakurai. This manga will be released as a 3-in-1 omnibus volume. The story follows Demon Lord Veltol, who awakens five centuries after his defeat to find himself in a futuristic, neon-lit Shinjuku where magic and technology coexist. His quest is to reclaim power in this new cyberpunk world that has largely forgotten his legend. Yen Press also publishes the original light novels for Demon Lord 2099.
Divine Incursions
Yen Press is also bringing Kōya Ashitaka’s manga adaptation of Oumi Kifuru’s Divine Incursions light novel series to English readers. This supernatural mystery begins when colossal, otherworldly body parts begin to fall from the sky, and corpses are discovered mysteriously devoid of their internal organs. Katagishi, from the Divine Incursions Special Investigations Department, is tasked with uncovering the truth behind these eerie phenomena, which blur the lines between divine intervention and horrifying realities. Yen Press announced the license for the Divine Incursions light novels in April.
Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian: Momoco’s Art Book
In addition to the new manga titles, Yen Press is set to release Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian: Momoco’s Art Book. This full-color collection showcases the distinctive illustrations by Momoco, the artist for the popular light novel series. The art book features exquisite full-color pieces from volumes 1–8 of the light novels, along with promotional artwork, chibi illustrations, and an exclusive short story penned by the original author, Sunsunsun. The original Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian light novel series is also published by Yen Press.
