The Legacy of Ronin Warriors
The original Yoroiden Samurai Troopers anime, released in 1988, ran for 39 episodes and gained significant popularity, especially in North America under the title Ronin Warriors. The series chronicled the battle of five young men—Ryo, Toma, Shu, Shin, and Seiji—who wore mystical armor to fight the forces of the demon emperor Arago. It inspired three OVAs, a manga adaptation, and novels.
Discotek Media released the complete Yoroiden Samurai Troopers series on Blu-ray in 2021, and the original anime is currently available for streaming on platforms like Crunchyroll. The announcement of this sequel has generated considerable excitement among long-time fans and is poised to introduce the beloved franchise to a new generation. The new Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers is slated to premiere in January 2026.
