The upcoming anime adaptation of Kōcha Agasawa’s romantic comedy manga, “You and I Are Polar Opposites” (Seihantai na Kimi to Boku), has revealed that Kokoro Ōmori and Tomori Kusunoki will join its voice cast. Ōmori will play the role of Nishi, while Kusunoki will voice Honda, expanding the ensemble of supporting characters in the highly anticipated series. The anime is slated to premiere in January 2026.
Expanding the “You and I Are Polar Opposites” Voice Cast
The announcement introduces two more talented voice actresses to the anime’s roster. Kokoro Ōmori is cast as Nishi, and Tomori Kusunoki as Honda, both portraying schoolmates in the series. These new additions join previously announced main cast members Sayumi Suzushiro, who voices the energetic Miyu Suzuki, and Shogo Sakata, who plays the quiet Yusuke Tani. Other classmates recently announced include Miyuri Shimabukuro as Azuma and Wataru Kato as Taira. Yuna Taniguchi voices Watanabe, and Konatsu Hirabayashi voices Sato.
Kokoro Ōmori’s Role as Nishi
Kokoro Ōmori is known for her roles in various anime, with past performances including Kaede in “Honey Lemon Soda” and Virgo in “A Wild Last Boss Appeared!” Her involvement as Nishi will bring another distinct personality to the high school setting of “You and I Are Polar Opposites.”
Tomori Kusunoki as Honda
Tomori Kusunoki is a prominent voice actress and singer affiliated with Sony Music Artists. She has lent her voice to numerous notable characters, such as Makima in “Chainsaw Man,” Llenn in “Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online,” and Setsuna Yuki in “Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club.” Her portrayal of Honda is expected to add another layer to the dynamic cast. Kusunoki made her voice acting debut in 2017 and has since gained recognition, winning the Rookie Best Award at the 13th Voice Actor Award in 2018.
About “You and I Are Polar Opposites” Anime
“You and I Are Polar Opposites,” or “Seihantai na Kimi to Boku,” is a romantic comedy anime adapted from Kōcha Agasawa’s manga series. The story centers on the contrasting personalities of high school students Miyu Suzuki and Yusuke Tani. Suzuki is an outgoing and energetic girl who tends to go with the flow, while Tani is an introverted boy who speaks his mind directly. The series explores their evolving relationship and the issues faced by their friends.
The manga was initially published as a one-shot in Shueisha’s Shōnen Jump+ in January 2021, before being serialized from May 2022 to November 2024. It has been collected into eight tankōbon volumes. The English version of the manga is available on MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA and published by Viz Media.
The anime adaptation is produced by Lapintrack, with Takayoshi Nagatomo directing and Teruko Utsumi handling series composition and serving as animation producer. Mako Miyako is responsible for character designs, and tofubeats is composing the music. Crunchyroll will stream the series in various regions, including North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and India.
