The manga adaptation of Natsu Hyūga’s novel, You Can’t Bluff the Sharp-Eyed Sister (original Japanese title: Seijo ni Uso wa Tsūjinai), is set to begin a new series soon. The current “series” concluded in the August issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine on July 4, with the next issue expected to reveal the manga’s return date.
Authored by Natsu Hyūga, with manga by Yo Asami and character designs by Chiho Shinishi, You Can’t Bluff the Sharp-Eyed Sister follows Chloe, a priestess-in-training who secretly earns money at gambling dens due to her exceptional perception and memory. Her unique talents lead a holy knight named Heraldo to enlist her aid in solving a two-year-old murder mystery, believing she possesses a rare magical “Gift.” Unbeknownst to him, Chloe’s success stems from her sharp intellect and keen observation rather than supernatural abilities.
The manga, which is described as a fantasy mystery, began serialization in Monthly Shonen Magazine in March 2023. Kodansha USA is publishing the manga in English, with the first volume released on October 21 and the fifth volume slated for September 17. The narrative focuses on Chloe’s infiltration of the central church as a Lady Saint candidate to uncover the truth behind the murder, navigating a world of deadly palace intrigue with her wit and sharp eyes.
