What is Your Forma About?
Your Forma is based on the light novel series of the same name, written by Mareho Kikuishi and illustrated by Tsubata Nozaki. The story is set in a world where a pandemic of viral encephalitis in 1992 led to the development of “Your Forma,” an invasive information device implanted in the brain. This device records every sight, sound, and emotion, making it possible to dive into collective data to investigate major crimes.
The anime follows Echika Hieda, a prodigious “Electronic Investigator,” and her newly assigned partner, Harold, a humanoid “Amicus” (android). Together, this unlikely duo works to uncover hidden secrets and solve complex cases in a world where technology and human emotions intertwine. The anime starts with the novels’ second volume, delving deeper into Harold and the RF Amicus androids’ origins. Harold and his “brother” units become suspects in a crime, adding layers of mystery and intrigue to the narrative.
