The popular light novel series, Yowaki MAX Reijō nanoni, Ratsuwan Konyakusha-sama no Kake ni Notte Shimatta (Even Though I’m a Super Timid Noble Girl, I Accepted the Bet From My Cunning Fiancé!), is officially receiving a TV anime adaptation. Kadokawa announced the news in a video, also revealing a teaser visual and details about the main cast. Voice actors Miku Itō and Ryōta Ōsaka are set to reprise their roles from the series’ previous voice drama.
A Timid Noble Girl’s Reincarnated Life Takes an Unexpected Turn
The series, often shortened to Yowaki MAX Reijō, centers on Pia Rockwell, a character who finds herself reincarnated as a villainess in a reverse harem otome game. After a childhood illness, Pia regains memories of her past life as a Japanese doctorate student specializing in paleontology. Determined to avoid the tragic fate of banishment that awaits her character in the game, Pia’s primary goal is to become a commoner, excavate fossils, establish a museum, and ultimately work as a curator.
This ambition is complicated by her engagement to Rufus, the Prime Minister’s son. Wishing to break off the engagement to pursue her paleontological dreams and escape her predetermined villainess route, Pia confronts Rufus. However, her “cunning fiancé” doesn’t let her off easily, instead drawing her into an unpredictable bet. This setup promises a romantic comedy filled with unexpected twists as the timid Pia navigates her new life alongside her shrewd fiancé.
The Journey from Web Novel to Anime
Yowaki MAX Reijō nanoni, Ratsuwan Konyakusha-sama no Kake ni Notte Shimatta originated as a web novel, which began serialization on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō online publishing platform in January 2020. Enterbrain later picked up the series for light novel publication under their B’s Log Bunko imprint, with seven volumes released between August 2020 and April 2024. The light novel series is written by Hiro Oda and illustrated by Tsubasa.V.
A manga adaptation, illustrated by Aji Murata, was also serialized online on Kadokawa’s KadoComi service under the Flos Comic label. This manga ran from February 2021 to January 2024 and was compiled into four volumes. The transition from web novel to light novel, and then to manga, highlights the growing popularity and anticipation for an anime adaptation.
