The highly anticipated anime film Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise has released its main trailer and key visual, confirming an October 24, 2025 theatrical premiere in Japan. The movie will continue the unique blend of zombie horror, idol antics, and comedy that fans have come to love, with a shocking new sci-fi twist.
An Unprecedented Galactic Threat Looms Over Saga
The newly released trailer for Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise reveals a dramatic shift in the narrative, as a colossal spaceship appears over Saga Prefecture. This unexpected arrival occurs just as Franchouchou, the beloved zombie idol group, prepares for their most significant performance yet as ambassadors for the Saga Expo. The entire prefecture is thrown into chaos as an unprecedented alien attack unfolds.
Tae Yamada’s Awakening and a New Song
In a pivotal moment teased in the trailer, Tae Yamada, the mysterious “legendary zombie” who has largely remained in a non-verbal, zombified state throughout the series, finally awakens. Her declaration of “What can an idol even do?” signals her departure from Franchouchou as she ventures alone into enemy territory to confront the invasion. The trailer also provides a sneak peek and previews Franchouchou’s new song, “Matataku Sora ni Akogarete” (“Longing for the Twinkling Sky”), which is expected to add emotional depth to the film’s intense storyline.
Returning Cast and Production Team
The core voice cast members are set to reprise their roles for the film. This includes Kaede Hondo as Sakura Minamoto, Asami Tano as Saki Nikaido, Risa Taneda as Ai Mizuno, Maki Kawase as Junko Konno, Kotono Mitsuishi as Tae Yamada, Rika Kinugawa as Yugiri, and Minami Tanaka as Lily Hoshikawa. Mamoru Miyano will also return as the eccentric producer, Kotaro Tatsumi.
Studio MAPPA, responsible for animating both previous seasons of the anime, is returning for the film. Takafumi Ishida and Takeru Satō are directing the film, with Shigeru Murakoshi handling the screenplay. Character designs are credited to Fumihide Sai, Jinshichi Yamaguchi, and Kasumi Fukagawa, while Yasuharu Takanashi is composing the music.
The Road to Yumeginga Paradise
The Zombie Land Saga anime series first premiered in October 2018, followed by a second season titled Zombie Land Saga Revenge in April 2021. Crunchyroll has streamed both seasons, making them accessible to international fans. The film project was initially announced in October 2021, building anticipation for this new chapter in the idol group’s saga. Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise is set to take place during the Saga Expo, which is positioned in the year 2025 within the anime’s timeline.
Fans can look forward to a special “Galaxy Premiere Completion Screening” event on September 28, 2025, at Shinjuku Wald 9 in Shinjuku, Tokyo. This event will feature stage appearances by the voice actors of Franchouchou.
