The highly anticipated anime film Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise has revealed a new cast member and released a “climax promotional video” just days before its theatrical premiere. The film is set to open in Japan on Friday, October 24, 2025.
Daisuke Ono Joins the Cast
Veteran voice actor Daisuke Ono has been announced as a new addition to the Zombie Land Saga film’s cast. He will portray Naomasa Amabuki, a character with significant ties to the existing storyline. Naomasa Amabuki is introduced as the father of Maria Amabuki and the husband of Reiko, who is Saki Nikaido’s best friend. Adding another layer to his character, he also works at the Saga Prefectural Space and Science Museum Yumeginga.
Franchouchou’s New Song Featured in “Climax Promo Video”
The recently released “climax promotional video” for Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise offers fans a glimpse into the film’s intense moments and features a brand-new song from the in-story idol group Franchouchou. The new track is titled “Yūkyū Never Die” (Eternal Never Die) and is expected to be part of the upcoming Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise Franchouchou The Best Paradise album, which will be released on October 29, 2025. The trailer hints at the exciting and emotional journey awaiting the zombie idols.
Returning Cast and Production Team
The film sees the return of the beloved main cast, including Mamoru Miyano as Kotaro Tatsumi, Kaede Hondo as Sakura Minamoto, Asami Tano as Saki Nikaido, Risa Taneda as Ai Mizuno, Maki Kawase as Junko Konno, Rika Kinugawa as Yugiri, Minami Tanaka as Lily Hoshikawa, and Kotono Mitsuishi as Tae Yamada.
Studio MAPPA is once again handling the animation production for the film. Takafumi Ishida and Takeru Sato, who previously directed episodes of the Zombie Land Saga series, are helming the film as directors. Shigeru Murakoshi is credited as the scriptwriter and screenwriter, with Yasuharu Takanashi returning to compose the music. Character designs are handled by Fumihide Sai, Jinshichi Yamaguchi, and Kasumi Fukagawa.
What to Expect from Yumeginga Paradise
Zombie Land Saga: Yumeginga Paradise continues the unique narrative of a group of girls resurrected as zombies to form an idol group and save Saga Prefecture. The film’s plot is set to explore new territory, including an alien invasion and the intriguing possibility of Tae Yamada recovering her intelligence. An early screening of the film was held on September 28, 2025, at Shinjuku Wald 9, generating further anticipation.
The Zombie Land Saga franchise, a co-production by MAPPA, Avex Pictures, and Cygames, first premiered in October 2018, followed by a second season, Zombie Land Saga Revenge, in April 2021. Both seasons were streamed by Crunchyroll. The franchise has also expanded into manga series and a stage play.
