Hiroyuki Etō’s Mahōjin Guru Guru 2 (Magical Circle Guru-Guru 2) manga is set to conclude with its next volume. The announcement was made in the endnotes of the 20th volume of the series, signaling the end of a magical journey that has captivated fans since its launch in 2012.

A Nostalgic Return to the World of Guru-Guru

Magical Circle Guru-Guru is a fantasy comedy manga series written and illustrated by Hiroyuki Etō. The original series was serialized in Enix’s Monthly Shōnen Gangan from 1992 to 2003, spanning 16 volumes. It follows the adventures of Nike, a young boy forced to become a hero, and Kukuri, a descendant of the Migu Migu tribe who uses a mysterious magic called “Guru-Guru.” Together, they journey to defeat the demon lord Giri and save the world.

The series gained immense popularity for its charming characters, lighthearted humor, and clever parodies of classic RPGs, particularly the Dragon Quest series. Its success led to multiple adaptations, including:

  • A 45-episode anime series by Nippon Animation (1994-1995)
  • An anime film (1996)
  • A 38-episode sequel anime series, Doki Doki Legend Magical Circle Guru Guru (2000)
  • A remake anime series by Production I.G (2017)

Magical Circle Guru-Guru 2: A New Generation of Adventure

Mahōjin Guru Guru 2 is a sequel to the original manga series. It was launched in Gangan Online in November 2012. The sequel revisits Nike and Kukuri as they embark on new adventures.

A Fond Farewell

The conclusion of Magical Circle Guru-Guru 2 marks the end of an era for fans who have followed the series for years. Hiroyuki Etō’s creation has left an indelible mark on the world of manga and anime, and its legacy will continue to inspire and entertain for generations to come.
