The comedy manga The Demons Are Planning Something Good! (Ma no Mono-tachi wa Kuwadateru), written by Takuji Katō and illustrated by Gashi-gashi, is set to inspire a new anime adaptation. Fans of the manga can look forward to seeing their favorite characters come to life on screen.
Anime Adaptation in Production
An official X (formerly Twitter) account revealed that the TV anime adaptation is in production, with Takuya Asaoka (VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral after Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream) directing the series at studio TNK. The studio TNK is known for series such as Immoral Guild and Redo of Healer. Further details about the project, such as additional staff, cast and release date, were not confirmed at the time of reporting.
Story Premise
Yen Press, which has licensed The Demons Are Planning Something Good, describes the story as a comedy about the everyday struggles of demons. While things like slime that melts clothes or tentacle traps may not seem like much to humans, behind each trap of this nature is the blood, sweat, and tears of a demon. The manga began as a series of short stories on Twitter before being serialized on Kadokawa’s DraDra Sharp# web manga service in March 2023.
Celebratory Illustrations
To celebrate the anime announcement, Katō and Gashi-gashi released special illustrations.
