Fans of the My Hero Academia: Vigilantes anime can anticipate a second season, officially announced to premiere in 2026. The news comes from TOHO animation, which confirmed the continuation of the series following the broadcast of its first season’s final episode. Crunchyroll has secured the streaming rights for the upcoming season, making it available worldwide outside of Asia.

The My Hero Academia: Vigilantes anime adapts the manga by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Betten Court, a spin-off and prequel to Kōhei Horikoshi’s popular My Hero Academia series. The first season, which premiered on April 7, 2025, consisted of 13 episodes and was animated by Bones Film, a newly established company by studio BONES. Kenichi Suzuki directed the first season, with Yōsuke Kuroda handling series scripts, Takahiko Yoshida designing characters, and Yuki Hayashi, Shōgo Yamashiro, and Yūki Furuhashi composing the music.

The prequel series delves into the lives of individuals who use their Quirks for good deeds without official hero licenses, exploring a different facet of the hero-filled world established in My Hero Academia. The story follows Koichi Haimawari, known as The Crawler, a college student who, alongside Kazuho Haneyama (Pop Step) and Iwao Oguro (Knuckleduster), becomes involved in vigilante activities. The cast from the main My Hero Academia series, including Kenta Miyake as Toshinori Yagi/All Might and Junichi Suwabe as Shota Aizawa/Eraser Head, also reprise their roles in the spin-off.

The announcement of a second season was accompanied by a teaser trailer and a teaser visual, hinting at future events in the narrative. While the first season concluded with some resolved storylines, it also laid the groundwork for further developments, suggesting deeper explorations into quirk experiments and new villains. The manga itself concluded in May 2022, spanning 15 collected volumes, indicating ample source material for future anime adaptations.
