The Spring 2025 anime season is off to an exciting start with the arrival of “The Unaware Atelier Master” (Kanchigai no Atelier Meister), and fans are thrilled that they don’t have to wait to enjoy it in English! Crunchyroll has announced a same-day English dub release, allowing viewers to experience the series as it premieres in Japan. Here’s everything you need to know about this highly anticipated anime.

What is “The Unaware Atelier Master” About?

“The Unaware Atelier Master” is based on the light novel series by Yōsuke Tokino, with illustrations by Zounose. The story follows Kurt Rockhans, a kind-hearted errand boy for a hero’s party known as the Flaming Dragon Fang. Kurt is banished from the party after discovering he has the lowest rank in combat. However, he soon realizes that his skills in other areas, such as cooking, building, mining, and crafting magical tools, are actually SSS-rank! Despite his extraordinary talents, Kurt remains blissfully unaware of his true potential, leading to humorous situations where he unknowingly saves the day.

Alpha Manga, which is releasing the manga adaptation digitally, describes the story as follows:

One day, Kurt, a kind-hearted errand boy for a hero’s party, discovers his combat abilities are the lowest rank. However, he proves to be skillful in cooking, building, mining, crafting magical tools–in fact, his aptitude for every skill unrelated to combat had an SSS-ranking! Kurt, however, seems completely unaware to his talent and ends up saving people, the town, and even the country through his unaware actions!?

Same-Day English Dub Release

Crunchyroll is streaming the English dub of “The Unaware Atelier Master” alongside the advance streaming of the anime in Japan, starting March 30, 2025. This means fans can watch the English dub on the same day the episode becomes available in Japan.

English Dub Cast & Crew

Crunchyroll has revealed the English dub cast and crew, which includes:

Cast:

  • Kurt: Ciarán Strange
  • Yulishia: Erin Nicole Lundquist
  • Kirshell: Alison Schonhoff

Where to Watch

The English dub of “The Unaware Atelier Master” is available on Crunchyroll.

Production Details

  • Director: Hisashi Ishii (Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear chief director)
  • Studio: EMT Squared
  • Series Composition: Deko Akao (Sasaki and Peeps)

  • Opening Theme Song: “FACSTORY” by MeseMoa.
  • Ending Theme Song: “Haru ni Kiete (Vanish in the Spring)” by LOT SPiRiTS

Episode Release Schedule

The anime streams one week in advance of its television broadcast premiere on the d Anime Store and ABEMA services. It will then run on Japanese television on April 6 on the Tokyo MX channel at 10:00 p.m. JST (9:00 a.m. EDT), on YTV on April 7, and on BS-NTV on April 8.

Reception and Initial Thoughts

Early reactions to the first episode have been generally positive. Some viewers have noted similarities to other “kicked out of the hero’s party” anime and Isekai stories, but many are finding the premise enjoyable and the characters engaging. The humor derived from Kurt’s obliviousness to his own talents is a key element that resonates with viewers.

Is “The Unaware Atelier Master” Worth Watching?

If you enjoy fantasy anime with a focus on heartwarming characters, humor, and a unique take on the “underestimated protagonist” trope, “The Unaware Atelier Master” is definitely worth checking out. The same-day English dub release makes it even more accessible for international fans.
