The upcoming TV anime adaptation of Masakuni Igarashi’s rom-com manga, Tune In to the Midnight Heart (Mayonaka Heart Tune), has revealed the main cast of heroines and key production staff. The anime is slated for a 2026 release and is generating significant buzz among fans of the manga and anime community. This highly anticipated anime shines a spotlight on four hard-working heroines of a broadcasting club, who individually aspire to become a singer, a voice actress, a VTuber, and an announcer.
Heroines’ Voice Cast Revealed
The voice actresses for the four main heroines were announced at AnimeJapan 2025, exciting fans eager to hear their favorite characters come to life.
- Rikka Inohana will be voiced by Momoko Seto. Rikka is the head of the broadcasting club and aspires to be a singer. She sometimes shows a cool and devilish side.
- Nene Himekawa will be voiced by Rumi Okubo. Nene aims to become a voice actress and also works as a cosplayer. She is a popular and energetic character who speaks her mind.
- Iko Kirino will be voiced by Sayumi Suzushiro. Iko is a VTuber who streams under the name “Sumeragi Ikon.” She is shy and doesn’t talk much but has a strong sense of self-assertion. Suzushiro commented on how she quickly read through the original work, captivated by the cute heroines and intrigued by the story’s unfolding. She expressed her happiness to be involved in the production and her determination to make it enjoyable.
- Shinobu Uzuki will be voiced by Miku Itō. Shinobu dreams of becoming an announcer.

- Director: Masayuki Takahashi ( Butareba -The Story of a Man Turned into a Pig- ) will be directing the anime at studio GEKKOU.
- Series Composition: Yukie Sugawara (Overlord, Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again) is in charge of the series scripts.
- Character Designer: Tomoyuki Shitaya (Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Bakuman.) is designing the characters.
Tune In to the Midnight Heart: Story Overview
Tune In to the Midnight Heart is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masakuni Igarashi. It began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in September 2023.
The story follows Arisu Yamabuki, a high school sophomore, who has been searching for a girl named Apollo, a radio broadcaster whose face and real name he does not know. One day, Arisu finds a clue about Apollo in the broadcasting club of the high school he is attending. There, he meets four beautiful girls who dream of “getting a job related to voice.” Arisu vows to fulfill the dreams of each of the four girls in order to find out the true identity of Apollo.
Kodansha USA Publishing has licensed the manga, with the first volume scheduled for release in English in Q2 2025. Kodansha’s K MANGA service is also currently publishing the manga digitally in English.
AnimeJapan 2025 Announcement and Promotional Video
The cast and staff were revealed at an AnimeJapan 2025 stage event. A voiced version of the trailer was released, featuring the voices of the newly announced cast. The promotional video features the four heroines whispering the heartfelt phrase, “I love you.”
Interactive Campaign
To celebrate the release of the promotional video, an interactive campaign is being held on the anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) account. The campaign invites fans to guess the voice actresses behind the heroines, with a lottery for exclusive signed stickers for those who correctly identify the cast.

Masakuni Igarashi launched the Tune In to the Midnight Heart manga in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in September 2023. Igarashi is also known for his other works, including Senryū Girl, which also received an anime adaptation, and Detectives These Days Are Crazy!, which is also slated to receive an anime adaptation in 2025.
