The highly anticipated TV anime adaptation of Aya Hirakawa’s romantic comedy manga, Mikadono San Shimai wa Angai, Choroi (帝乃三姉妹は案外、チョロい。), also known as The Three Mikadono Sisters Are Surprisingly Easy, has revealed its debut date. The anime is set to premiere in July 2025, with the first promotional video now available. This announcement was made at the AnimeJapan 2025 event, exciting fans of the manga and anime enthusiasts alike.

Story and Premise

Mikadono San Shimai wa Angai, Choroi follows the story of Yu Ayase, a high school student struggling to live up to the legacy of his late mother, a legendary actress. After his mother’s death, Yuu is taken in by the wealthy Mikadono family and begins living with three talented sisters: Kazuki, a budding actress; Niko, a rising martial artist; and Miwa, a shogi prodigy. Each of the sisters is a star in their respective fields at Saika Academy. As Yuu spends time with the sisters, they gradually warm up to him and develop romantic feelings for him, despite their initial disinterest. The series explores themes of family, talent, and the unexpected ease with which relationships can form.

Manga Origins and Popularity

The Mikadono San Shimai wa Angai, Choroi manga, written and illustrated by Aya Hirakawa, has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine since December 2021. As of March 2025, thirteen volumes have been released. The manga has gained significant popularity, with over 1 million copies in circulation by July 2024. It was also nominated for the Next Manga Award in 2022 and 2023, ranking 15th and 8th respectively.
